"All in One" - Red Kalahari dunes, second largest Canyon in the world, light and shadow contrasts at Sossusvlei - the highest dunes in the world, German colonial town in the middle of Africa - between desert and ocean, pre-historic rock engravings in the rugged Damaraland, Afri-Leo Project, Etosha National Park with over 144 wild animals - a paradise for the photographer, fairytale sun downers, fascinating red sandstone formations of the Waterberg Plateau, end of tour in a unique Clayhouse Lodge - rustic and comfortable.

ITINERARY:

Day 1

Arrival in Windhoek, car rental will meet you at the airport, handover of vehicle in Windhoek. Overnight at a Hotel/Pension (B&B).

Day 2

Safari starts to a lodge on the edge of the Kalahari desert. In the afternoon you will enjoy a game drive (included) in the red dune scenery. Guests experience gastronomical delights - for real wine connoisseurs - "the place" (Dinner/Bed/Breakfast).

Day 3/4

Take a walk through the quivertree forest, an impressive collection of the Aloe type Aloe dichotoma and visit the giant's playground. Your destination today is the Fishriver Canyon, the second largest canyon of the world, which suddenly falls over 550 metres deep in a deserted mountain region. Overnight in the rustic Canon Roadhouse. At the view point you will have a splendid view into the Canyon. Optional sun downer drives along the canyon and horse riding excursions are offered (B&B).

Day 5

In the picturesque south-western part of Namibia you will enjoy the personal atmosphere of a small guest farm bordering the Namib desert. The fascinating scenery of this unique area provides ample opportunity for breathtaking photography or for painters. An old copper mine is of great interest to hobby geologists (DBB). (Nature drive included).

Day 6/7

In the Namib Desert, at Sossusvlei, you will experience a unique color show, when the sun brushes softly over the dunes, turning them into a red-orange tone. Optional activity: Enjoy a breathtaking balloon ride - silently gliding over the dunes to catch the first sunbeam, softly awakening the dunes. Overnight at a guest farm. (B&B)

Day 8/9

In Walvis Bay you can enjoy delicious fresh oysters and champagne, while dolphins and seals accompany you on a morning boat cruise. Swakopmund offers a rare charm, characterised by old buildings from the German colonial era, combined with African art and modern business trends. Optional activities: Scenic flight over the notorious Skeleton Coast - giving you a bird's eye view over the salt fields, the Swakop River and the unique Moon Landscape and some ship wrecks along the never-ending coast line. For the more adventurous traveller a guides Quad-bike tour in the dunes near Swakopmund gives a good adrenalin kick. Overnight at a guest house/hotel. (B&B)

Day 10/11

At Cape Cross the first European, Diego Cao, walked on African soil. He erected a cross to honour the Portuguese government. About 200.000 fur seals live here today. In Damaraland you reach your accommodation - Twyfelfontein - where elephants can still roam free. For many hundreds of years this area served as hunting ground for the indigenous bushmen. Their paintings and engravings can still be seen today at "Twyfelfontein", meaning doubtful fountain. (B&B)

Day 12/13

Southwest of the Etosha Pan you will visit a lodge, which aims at conserving the African lion. The Afri-Leo Project informs you about their work to save the endangered predators in Namibia (Full board / including activities).

Day 14

South of the Etosha Park you will overnight at a guest farm - a short, relaxing stopover, where guests can enjoy delicious Namibian farm cuisine (DBB).

Day 15/16

Eventually you will reach the Etosha National Park. During extensive game drives you can view elephant, rhino, giraffe, predator, zebra and many antilope species. The waterholes at the restcamps are illuminated during the night, to give the visitors a chance for night game viewing. One overnight in a restcamp in the park (no meals) and one overnight at a lodge (B&B) just outside the park.

Day 17

Your luxurious accommodation lies surrounded by a green untamed wilderness, near the Waterberg Plateau Park. In the Okarakuvisa slope on the plateau exists the only breeding colony of the unique and endangered Cape Griffon Vulture. Optional game drives are offered, or a visit to the nearby Cheetah Conservation Fund. (B&B)

Day 18/19

Drop-off of vehicle in Windhoek. Your Safari ends in a lodge with unique style, which integrates perfectly into the warm red sandstone of the Kalahari. Built out of handmade clay bricks, creatively decorated, the lodge invites you with its comfortable atmosphere. (DBB)

Day 20

Transfer to the airport on day of departure.
